Case study · Companion robotics
Companion robots that listen, talk and remember
We bring conversation, memory and interaction into physical companion devices, with behaviour kept secure and age-appropriate. Client details are confidential.
The challenge
A companion device is a hard place for AI.
A companion device has limited hardware, users of every age and no room for mistakes. It has to understand speech, respond in a way that suits the person and remember them from one session to the next.
Connecting a general-purpose chatbot to a speaker does not meet that bar. The intelligence has to be built around the device and the people who use it.
What we built
Six parts, working as one product.
- 01
Physical product integration
The AI is part of the device itself, not a separate app.
- 02
Conversational intelligence
Two-way conversation that responds to what the user says.
- 03
Domain-specific model configuration
Models configured for the product's world: topics, language and interaction style.
- 04
Memory and context
The device remembers earlier conversations and builds on them.
- 05
Gamified experiences
Interactive play built into the conversation.
- 06
Secure, age-appropriate behaviour
Limits on what the device says and does, set for its users.
Capabilities used
Let's build together
Have a physical product in mind?
Let's make it intelligent.
You bring the product idea. We bring the intelligence, data and engineering to make it work.
